The Secret Place
$1,500.00
Artist: Cameron Payne
Medium: Acrylic
Artist Statement:
This piece was painted to convey the concept of the place in our minds we go to find Peace. Not painted from a literal geographical location but from the place we can enter within the inner dwellings of our minds. We can visit these places or scenes at any given time. Never crowded or requiring a pass. This place appears differently from person to person but connects us into a realm of peace and solitude. In this secret place we feel anything but out of place. I believe in the depths of our mind, when we access this space we are so authentically ourselves. It’s here our souls feel refreshed and our minds become renewed.
What does your secret place look like?
Here I can go to rest my mind
A familiar place, only mine
I go quite often, from time to time
A place in the depths of me,
A refuge, where my soul’s refreshed,
and renewing comes to the mind
Where I can find peace, belonging
Where all the weight of the world drifts behind
A place more real than this,
Unable to be described as anything but heavenly, or divine
The secret place—only you know,
only you can find,
when you remain still long enough
to discover peace of mind.
